Did you know? Portage Pool Swim Lessons qualify for KidSport Funding. KidSport provides grants to children from families facing financial barriers to participating in registered children’s sports programs. They cover up to $500 of sport registration fees per child each calendar year.

Swimming Lessons
Portage Pool is an affiliate of the Lifesaving Society and offers the Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life and Canadian Swim Patrol programs, lessons beginning as early as 4 months old. The Lifesaving Society Swim program is a national program–if you have taken lessons with the Lifesaving Society elsewhere, or even from another organization, you can take lessons at Portage Pool without losing your progress!

Adult and Teens Lessons
Our adult and teen swimming lessons are registered programs to provide consistency of instruction and learning progression. All of these programs are instructed by certified swimming instructors, and we work with you to meet your goals.
Leadership
- Workplace approved first aid courses;
- Lifesaving courses such as the Bronze Medal programs;
- Lifeguard courses and re-certifications;
- Lifesaving instructor training; and

Fitness
Aquafit classes are available as a registered or drop in program, taught by certified aquatic fitness instructors. It’s a full-body workout targeting muscular strength, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness, all while being easy on the joints. You don’t need to know how to swim to participate, meaning that Aquafit is great for all ability levels.
